To allow parallel access to Coupons by multiple servers / threads each Coupon Batch is broken up into segments.
The number of segments is a system wide configuration. Segments are purely for internal management and do not fulfill any business purpose. The number of segments created for a batch are configurable via preference CouponConfiguration
