Problems after Installing Agentry Editor Plug-In

Problem: Odd problems are seen in SAP Mobile WorkSpace after installing the Agentry Editor Plug-In.

In the New Driver Definition wizard, you may observe a reduced set of driver templates, and you may not be able to edit them (grayed out). In the New Connection Profile wizard, you may observe that the icons for some databases are wrong.

Explanation: This can happen if the Agentry Editor Plug-In is installed in SAP Mobile WorkSpace, instead of a separate Eclipse installation. The Agentry Editor needs a different set of DTPs than those used by SAP Mobile WorkSpace, so the Agentry Editor must be installed in a separate Eclipse instance and not in SAP Mobile WorkSpace.

Solution:

  1. Uninstall the SAP Mobile WorkSpace, and then reinstall it to reinstate a clean SAP Mobile WorkSpace environment.
  2. Follow the Agentry Editor Plug-In instructions to download and install a separate Eclipse instance that is not SAP Mobile WorkSpace.

See the Prerequisites listed in the topic Installing the Agentry Editor Plug-In and Eclipse Platform in Installation Guide for SAP Mobile SDK.

  3. Install the Agentry Editor Plug-In into the separate Eclipse instance.

See the procedure in the topic Installing the Agentry Editor Plug-In and Eclipse Platform in Installation Guide for SAP Mobile SDK.
