In a cluster installation, data tiers, SAP Mobile Server nodes that are installed as application server nodes, and (optional) SAP Mobile Server scale-out nodes, are installed by separate installation procedures, typically on separate hosts.
It can be scaled by adding or subtracting servers (nodes in a cluster), to adapt to changes in system load or performance requirements.
Redundant cluster nodes allow conventional load-balancing and failover mechanisms to provide a greater level of system availability.
In a typical clustered system, SAP Mobile Server instances do not share host system resources with data tier servers.
