Configuring End-to-End Communication on Non-Default Network Cards

In environments where server machines have multiple network interface cards (NICs), you can configure RAP components to communicate using specific, non-default network cards from input through to output.

Every NIC on your computer has an IP address. This address is assigned when the computer is configured, or after the card is installed. In environments where servers have more than one NIC, you can configure RAP components to communicate using non-default cards.

Establishing end-to-end communication over specific, non-default cards involves:

  1. Configuring the Event Stream Processor cluster to communicate on a specific, non-default card.
  2. Configuring the ESP SDKs to use the specified card when communicating with the cluster.
  3. Configuring Event Stream Processor to communicate with the output destinations, such as SAP HANA (or ASE) and Sybase IQ using specific network cards on their respective servers.
