Monitor and administer the ASE and Sybase IQ databases, as well as the
Sybase IQ and SAP HANA (or ASE) Output adapters using Sybase Control Center. You cannot
currently monitor or administer the SAP HANA database using SCC.
For full details on the configuration, usage, and functionality of Sybase
Control Center, see the individual SCC documentation for Event Stream Processor,
Adaptive Server Enterprise, and Sybase IQ. You can access the documentation either
through the Sybase Control Center online Help, which viewable from the
Help menu in SCC, or at the Product Documentation Web site.
To get started in Sybase Control Center:
- Install Sybase Control Center. See the RAP Installation and Configuration
Guide or the Event Stream Processor Installation Guide
for information.
- Launch SCC and log into SCC for Event Stream Processor, Adaptive
Server Enterprise, and Sybase IQ, if they are on separate machines.
- Register and authenticate an ESP node, a Sybase IQ server, and
an ASE server (if you are using ASE as your in-memory database). You can
register ASE or Sybase IQ servers from the Topology view in SCC for Event Stream
Processor by right-clicking the server and selecting Register. You may require certain user privileges for Adaptive
Server and Sybase IQ; see their individual SCC documentation for more
information.
- Register and authenticate a Sybase Control Center agent for these
components.
Once you have set up the Sybase Control Center environment, you can:
- Monitor node activity, including projects and adapters on the node.
- Monitor Adaptive Server Enterprise and Sybase IQ activity.
- View statistics for the Sybase IQ and SAP HANA (or ASE) Output
adapters.
- Start and stop an ESP node, or an ASE or Sybase IQ server.
- Start and stop adapters.
- View a file activity report for the Sybase IQ Output adapter.
