Multiplex High Availability

In the event of a coordinator failure, local SCC IQ agents can now automatically restart any server in the multiplex, start a new coordinator, or perform automatic failover.

The ability to restart nodes safely and automatically improves the high availability of SAP Sybase IQ.

Automatic restart and coordinator failover require a running SCC IQ Agent on the host where the multiplex server runs. If SCC is unavailable, manual coordinator restart or failover is needed.

Start an agent for each node. To associate a specific agent login with a target server, use the CREATE AGENT statement. Use ALTER AGENT to change the agent login information, or DROP AGENT to delete the login information. To enable automatic coordinator failover, set the root logical server policy option ENABLE_AUTOMATIC_FAILOVER.

The system view SYSIQMPXSERVERAGENT stores agent login information.
