RIM BlackBerry Versions for HTML5/JS Hybrid Apps

Supported Application Development Environments

Beginning with Sybase® Unwired Platform 2.2, customizing the BlackBerry Hybrid Web Container with BlackBerry SDK 6.0 or above is supported.

Supported Device Software

  • BlackBerry 7.1 OS
  • BlackBerry 7.0 OS
  • BlackBerry 6.0 OS

Supported Hardware

The recommended minimum hardware is 512MB RAM with a CPU clock speed greater than 624MHz.

Devices are required to be paired with a BES and have the BlackBerry MDS transport enabled to allow connection with the Unwired Platform Runtime. It is also strongly recommended to have BlackBerry MDS Connection Service enabled to be able to receive push notifications.

Tested Devices

Unless otherwise noted, all devices are supported. These devices have been tested by Sybase:

  • BlackBerry Torch 9810 on BlackBerry 7.0 OS
  • BlackBerry Curve 9360 on BlackBerry 7.0 OS
  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 on BlackBerry 6.0 OS
Warning!   Due to known BlackBerry Device Software memory limitations, BlackBerry Torch 9700 on BlackBerry Device Software 6.0 OS is not supported.
