Separating MBS and RBS Processing

If you wish to tune performance for messaging based synchronization (MBS) and replication based synchronization (RBS) applications independently, set up a separate Relay Server for each protocol.

  1. Set up separate Relay Server farms for MBS and RBS.
    See Creating a Custom Relay Server Configuration, Generating and Modifying the Relay Server Configuration, and Deploying a Relay Server Configuration.
  2. When setting up each Outbound Enabler:
    • Set the Farm type to Messaging or Replication for Relay Servers that are to handle MBS processing.
    • Set the Farm type to Replication for Relay Servers that are to handle RBS processing.
