Follow these guidelines when upgrading an existing Unwired Platform
system, in any configuration.
You can upgrade existing Unwired Platform servers by installing this version in
place – overwriting the existing installation. When you run the Sybase Unwired Platform
Runtime installer, follow the same instructions as for a new installation.
Before upgrading Unwired Platform servers:
- If you have mobile applications that use a custom SAP result
checker, upgrade those applications to use JCo version 3, before you upgrade
production servers. See Migrating Applications that Use a Custom SAP Result Checker.
- Make sure the existing Unwired Platform system is version 2.0 or
2.0.1.
- Back up the current installation. See System
Administration, “Backup and Recovery” and “Advantage Database Server Backup
(adsbackup) Utility” for details.
- If Sybase SAP DOE Connector is present, shut down SAP Data
Orchestration Engine.
