Preparing to Uninstall

Follow these steps before you start the Sybase Unwired Platform Runtime uninstaller.

  1. If Sybase SAP® DOE Connector is present, use the SCC console to remove any DOE-C packages.
See Sybase Control Center , “Deploy” chapter.
  2. While Unwired Server is running, uninstall any other Sybase products that require Unwired Platform to be installed first.
    This includes products such as:
    • Sybase SAP® DOE Connector

    • Sybase Mobile Sales for SAP® CRM

    • Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP® Business Suite

See the product-specific Installation Guide for instructions.

  3. Shut down all Sybase software, Sybase processes, and associated third-party processes running on the host.
    1. Shut down all Unwired Servers, before shutting down the data tier.

Ensure that all services that have names beginning with “Sybase” are stopped.

This includes Sybase Control Center, and if Sybase SAP DOE Connector is present, SAP Data Orchestration Engine.

    2. Shut down all database servers on data tier hosts.
      • Ensure that all services that have names beginning with “Sybase” are stopped.

      • Ensure that the Advantage Database Server service and OpenDS service are stopped, if either is present.

Open the Windows Services panel to confirm services are stopped. You may need to manually stop any Unwired Platform services still running.
  4. Move or copy any user-created files and log files that you want to keep, from the Unwired Platform installation directories to another location.

If you plan to reinstall Unwired Platform, preserve data by backing up the Unwired Platform databases.

See System Administration, “Operational Maintenance” chapter.
