Preparing to Install SAP Replication Server Data Assurance Option

Before you install SAP Replication Server Data Assurance Option, prepare your system.

1. Back up your current replication system.
2. Verify that you can uncompress or decompress installation files on your platform.

   On UNIX:

   File Type	Description
   .zip files	Use the unzip command
   .tgz files	Use gzip or GNU Tar

   On Windows:

   Make sure that the Winrar or Winzip utility is installed on your machine to decompress files during the installation process.

3. Log in using a user account with UNIX or Windows administrator privileges.

   On UNIX platform, create the 'sybase' user account and grant read, write, and execute permissions.

4. Close any open applications or utilities, including currently installed components, to free disk space and system references.
