Post Installation

When you have successfully installed Sybase Event Stream Processor, complete post installation tasks as necessary for the components you want to use.

The post installation tasks provided here are not mandatory to run ESP itself, but they do influence whether specific features are available in your implementation or not.

• Enabling Automatic Publishing with the Sybase Event Stream Processor Add-in for Microsoft Excel
  If you have installed the Sybase ESP Add-in for Microsoft Excel and want to use the Automatic Publishing feature (SybaseRTP), configure Microsoft Excel to load SybaseRTP.Rtp as an automation add-in.
• Enabling the WebSphere MQ Input and Output Adapters
  If you plan to use the WebSphere MQ Input or Output adapter, enable the files for use within Event Stream Processor. You must install the WebSphere MQ Client to use these adapters. For installation instructions, see the Adapters Guide.
• Installing the SDK on Other Machines
  Set up an external machine so that you can link and compile clients that will use the SDK to communicate with a server running ESP.
• Starting Sybase Control Center
  Sybase Control Center (SCC) is a Web-based tool for managing and monitoring Sybase servers, including Sybase Event Stream Processor servers. One SCC server can manage and monitor all the Event Stream Processor servers in your enterprise.
• Updating Environment Variables
  The Event Stream Processor installation process creates and updates environment variables on your system.
