Installing Mobile Sales on Your BlackBerry Device

How you install Sybase Mobiles Sales for SAP CRM on your BlackBerry depends on how your company provisions the application.

By default, Mobile Sales is installed in Downloads. Once Mobile Sales is installed, you can move it to a different location. If you reinstall Mobile Sales from a link or URL, or using Desktop Manager, your BlackBerry device remembers the installation location.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Over-the-Air

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Over-the-Air installation requires no action on your part. Your system administrator sends the Mobile Sales application directly to your device. For BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 or later, your system administrator can specify the location in which to install Mobile Sales.

Over-the-Air

Your system administrator places the Mobile Sales files in a Web-accessible location. Your administrator either sends you:

A message that contains a link to the Mobile Sales installation file (CRMUI.jad). You select the link, which starts the installation process.
A URL to the Mobile Sales installation file, which you indicate in the BlackBerry browser. Select Download to start the installation process.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Your system administrator might ask you to manually install Mobile Sales to your device using BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Your administrator will provide the Mobile Sales installation files on a network location.

After you install Mobile Sales, the mode in which run Mobile Sales determines your next steps.

Reboot your device by pressing Alt+Right Shift, then Delete.
If you are running Mobile Sales in Live mode, specify the connection settings in Sybase Settings before starting the application.
If you are evaluating the Mobile Sales application, run it in Demo mode, which contains sample data. You need not connect to the SAP system.
If instructed by your system administrator, enable database encryption (content protection).

Installing Mobile Sales Using Desktop Manager
You can manually install Mobile Sales on your BlackBerry device using BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Enabling Mobile Sales Database Encryption
Data encryption (content protection) protects sensitive data on your device, including your organization's CRM data, in the event that your BlackBerry smartphone is lost or stolen. When you enable Content Protection, you must enter a password to access your device's data.
