Widget event limitations on the BlackBerry device platform.
The BlackBerry platform does not support menu events.
On touch-screen devices, NavigationClick and NavigationUnclick methods are not supported on the check box, edit box, and radio group controls.
The BlackBerry navigationMovement method is invoked when a navigation motion occurs inside a field. Since you cannot move inside a control, this event does not normally occur. However, if you add the control as the last or first control on the current screen and scroll up or down, the navigationMovement method is called. Therefore, you must scroll the control to trigger the navigationMovement method. Using the arrow key on the Simulator scrolls the control.
The navigation bar control is unique in that it can be focused on only when it has a Back action assigned. When the navigation bar is clicked, the current screen pops from the screen stack, and as a result, the NavigationUnclick event is not called.
The toolbar item control cannot be focused on on BlackBerry devices, so OnFocus, OnUnfocus, NavigationClick, NavigationUnclick, NavigationMovement, and DrawFocus are not invoked.
DrawFocus is not supported for the display, region, radio groups, list detail, tab
folder, toolbar, and tab panel controls, and also for controls with no focus, such as the
label, separator, and toolbar item.
The onDraw event has two methods: paint() and drawFocus().
Since the toolbar cannot be focused on, only the paint method is invoked with the onDraw event.
