Prototyping a Device Application Using the Device Application Designer

A device application is a software application that runs on a mobile device. You can create prototype device applications for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices using the Device Application Designer.

  1. Accessing the Device Application Designer
    Access the Device Application Designer.
  2. Designing the Flow of Device Applications
    Use the Flow Design page to create the screen flow for the mobile application.
  3. Adding Screens from the Palette to the Flow Design
    Use the Flow Design page to add and connect screens you design, as well as customized stock screens.
  4. Adding Connections to Screens
    The Start icon is displayed on the Flow Design page, and its connection is attached to the first screen you add to the Flow Design. You can change the target to any screen in the Flow Design.
  5. Selecting a Device
    Select a device to display an empty canvas in the Screen Design page, formatted for that device.
  6. Adding Controls to the Screen
    Use the Screen Design Palette to add controls to your device application screen.
  7. Generating Code For a BlackBerry Device Application
    Use the Generate Device Application wizard to generate the device application code.
