Familiarize yourself with online help features.

Online help features
Feature Description
Preferences Using the Preferences dialog box, specify how you want help to display:
  • Using an external browser.
  • Displaying context-sensitive topic selections in a Help view or through a pop-up window.
  • Opening context-sensitive topics in the Help view or in the editor area.
Opening the online help bookshelf You can open the online help in an embedded Web browser from a variety of locations. You can also use an external Web browser.

Opening the Help view A dynamic Help view provides context-sensitive help for the current task. In wizards, preference windows, launch configurations, searches and other multi-page dialog boxes, press F1 or select the help icon. While the Help view is open, the contents will update automatically as you progress from page to page in the user interface.
Printing a single help topic Print selected topics by clicking the Print Page icon in the Help Contents toolbar (right pane).

You can also select the Print Topics icon in the Table of Contents toolbar (left pane) and select Print Selected Topic.

Printing a group or collection of topics Print a group or collection or topics by clicking the Print Topics icon in the table of Contents toolbar (left pane) and select Print Selected Topic and All Subtopics.

If you have PDF capabilities, you can choose to print the group of topics to the PDF-designated printer to create a PDF.

Searching for a topic Use the Search feature to locate topics based on key words. You can perform a help search directly from the bookshelf or using the dynamic Help view.
Collections The online help is organized into collections of topics in the online bookshelf. To identify a topic, view the topic title bar.
Glossaries Each collection has its own glossary. To access a glossary, expand the collection category in the Table of Contents (left pane). The glossary is the last topic of each collection.
Breadcrumbs A hierarchy displays at the top of each topic. You can review the hierarchical sequence of the topic you are viewing in the collection, and you can also select a category and move up the hierarchy.

To return to your original topic, click the Back arrow in the tool bar.

Tutorials, Samples, and Quick Start Videos You can access information by:
  • Clicking the Tutorials, Samples, or Quick Start Videos icons on the WorkSpace Welcome page.
  • Selecting Help from the main menu bar.
  • Reviewing the appropriate online help topic for Tutorials, Samples, or Quick Start Videos.
Note: Tutorials, Samples, or Quick Start videos may not be available.
