Connection refused: connect Error Message

Problem: When authenticating an IQ resource or the SCC agent, the connection is refused and authentication fails.

This error message appears when the SCC server cannot establish a connection to the IQ resource host using the expected connection information. Authenticating an IQ resource requires the host and port of the managed resource. Authenticating an SCC agent requires the host and port of the agent.

Solution for IQ Managed Resources:
  1. Verify that the resource is running. If the resource is not running, start it outside of SCC.
Note: The SCC Start Server function is unavailable on unauthenticated resources.
  2. If the resource is running, verify that the host and port for the resource are correct.
    1. In the Perspective Resource view, highlight the resource and click Resource > Properties > Connection.
    2. Correct the connection information as needed.
Solution for the SCC Agent:
  1. Verify that the SCC agent is running on the host of the IQ managed resource. If the agent is not running, start it.
  2. If the agent is running, verify that the host and port for the agent are correct.

    Simplex:

    1. In the Administration Console, highlight IQ Servers.
    2. In the right pane, highlight the resource and select Resource > Register Agent.
    3. Correct the connection information as needed.

    Multiplex:

    1. In the Administration Console, expand IQ Servers > Multiplex Management and select Multiplex Servers.
    2. In the right pane, highlight the resource and select Resource > Register Agent.
    3. Correct the connection information as needed.
