Adding a Predefined Spatial Unit of Measure

Add a predefined unit of measure for the spatial reference system.

Prerequisites
Database Version Spatial Unit of Measure Privileges
SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 and 15.4 You must have one of:
  • DBA authority
  • You are a member of the SYS_SPATIAL_ADMIN_ROLE group
SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 You must have one of:
  • CREATE ANY OBJECT system privilege
  • MANAGE ANY SPATIAL OBJECT system privilege
Task
Each predefined unit of measure has it's own conversion factor, which cannot be modified during the create process, but can be modified after the fact, if needed.
  1. In the Perspective Resources view, select the resource, and select Resource > Administration Console.
  2. In the left pane, expand IQ Servers > Schema Objects > Spatial Support, and then select Units of Measure.
  3. Click the arrow next to Units of Measure and select New.
    The Create Spatial Unit of Measure Wizard appears.
  4. On the Welcome page of the wizard, select a resource on which to create the predefined unit of measure.
  5. For Multiplex only, select a multiplex server on which to create the predefined unit of measure.
  6. Select Let me choose from the list of predefined units of measure.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Highlight a predefined unit of measure and click Next.
    Note: The name of a unit of measure must be unique. If you select a predefined unit of measure that already exists, an error message appears when you click Finish.
  9. Click Next.
  10. (Optional) On the Comment page, specify a comment for the predefined unit of measure.
  11. Click Finish.
    The predefined unit of measure appears on the list. You can modify the unit type and conversion factor of a predefined unit of measure via Properties.
