Upgrade an SAP Sybase IQ 15.x multiplex database to the current
16.0 version.

- SAP Sybase IQ server is version 16.0 SP2
or later.
- SAP Control Center is using the
SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 SP2 or later plugin.
- The multiplex resource is version 15.3 or 15.4 and is authenticated and
running.
- The SCC agent is authenticated, registered, and running for each node in the
multiplex environment.
- All JOIN indexes are dropped.
Task- In the Perspective Resources view, select the resource, and
select .
- In the left pane of the Administration Console, select
IQ Servers.
- Select a multiplex resource to upgrade from the right pane and either:
- Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the name and select
Upgrade Database, or,
- From the Administration Console menu bar, select .
The Welcome page appears. Details on the coordinator node and agent for the
selected multiplex resource appear. This information cannot be modified.
- Select the system procedure security model to be used by the database after
the upgrade. For details of the security models, see Changes
to System Procedures that Perform Privileged Operations in the migration guide for your platform. Click Next.
- On the Prepare for Upgrade page, click
Prepare.
Task status messages
appear in the Preparation Status window as each task progresses. Additional
messages appear in the Messages window. If a status of "Failed" is encountered
during the preparation phase, the upgrade process terminates. You must manually
fix the underlying cause of the failure outside SAP Control Center before the wizard can resume.
- Click:
- Close to terminate the upgrade and exit the Database
Upgrade wizard. See

- Next to continue.
- On the Upgrade Database page, click Upgrade.
Again, status messages track the upgrade's progress. If a status of "Failed" is
encountered, the upgrade terminates.
- Click:
- Close to exit the Database
Upgrade wizard.
- (Optional) Next to verify that
the upgraded database is functioning properly.
- On the Validate Upgrade page, click Validate. This runs the
sp_iqcheckdb stored procedure with the allocation database
parameter. Results appear in the scrollable Validate Upgrade window.
- Click Close.
