Upgrade an SAP Sybase IQ 15.x multiplex database to the current 16.0 version.

Prerequisites
Database Version Multiplex Privileges
SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 and 15.4 You must have DBA authority.
SAP Sybase IQ 16.0 Not supported.
Task
  1. In the Perspective Resources view, select the resource, and select Resource > Administration Console.
  2. In the left pane of the Administration Console, select IQ Servers.
  3. Select a multiplex resource to upgrade from the right pane and either:
    • Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the name and select Upgrade Database, or,
    • From the Administration Console menu bar, select Resource > Upgrade Database.
The Welcome page appears. Details on the coordinator node and agent for the selected multiplex resource appear. This information cannot be modified.
  4. Select the system procedure security model to be used by the database after the upgrade. For details of the security models, see Changes to System Procedures that Perform Privileged Operations in the migration guide for your platform. Click Next.
  5. On the Prepare for Upgrade page, click Prepare.
Task status messages appear in the Preparation Status window as each task progresses. Additional messages appear in the Messages window. If a status of "Failed" is encountered during the preparation phase, the upgrade process terminates. You must manually fix the underlying cause of the failure outside SAP Control Center before the wizard can resume.
  6. Click:
    • Close to terminate the upgrade and exit the Database Upgrade wizard. See Resolving Errors During a Multiplex Upgrade.
    • Next to continue.
  7. On the Upgrade Database page, click Upgrade.

    • Close to exit the Database Upgrade wizard.
    • (Optional) Next to verify that the upgraded database is functioning properly.
