Viewing or Modifying Perl Object Properties.

Display the properties of a Perl object associated with an SAP SAP Sybase IQ database. Only the comment can be modified.

Prerequisites

Database Version	External Environment – Perl Privileges
SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 and 15.4	View external environment properties – none. Modify View external environment properties – you must have DBA authority.
SAP Sybase IQ 16.0	View external environment properties – none. Modify external environment properties – you must have the MANAGE ANY EXTERNAL OBJECT system privilege.

View external environment properties – none.

Modify external environment properties – you must have the MANAGE ANY EXTERNAL OBJECT system privilege.

Task

In the Perspective Resources view, select the resource, and select Resource > Administration Console.
In the left pane, select IQ Servers > Compiled Objects > External Environments > Perl.
Select a Perl object from the right pane and either:
- Click the arrow to the right of the name and select Properties, or
- From the Administration Console menu bar, select Resource > Properties.
The External Environment Object Properties view appears.

Edit the comments field if needed. All other properties are read-only.

If you do not have privileges to modify properties, SAP Control Center displays the properties view in read-only mode.

General	Name – (Read-only) Name of the perl object. Type – (Read-only) Type of Perl object. Creator – (Read-only) User who created the Perl object. External environment – (Read-only) External environment of the Perl object Time modified – (Read-only) Date and time the Perl object was last modified. Comment – A text field for adding an optional comment about the Perl object.
Content (Read-only)	The content of the Perl script.

Do one of:
- Click OK to update any changes to the database and exit the properties view.
- Click Apply to update any changes to the database, but remain in the properties view.
- Click Cancel to cancel any changes not updated to the database and exit the properties view.
