Viewing or Modifying Simplex Server Properties

View or change general, configuration, and agent information, and options and values of properties for the selected simplex server.

Prerequisites
Database Version Simplex Privileges
SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 and 15.4

View any simplex property page – none

Modify any simplex property – you must have DBA authority.

SAP Sybase IQ 16.0

View any simplex property page – none

Modify any property on the Configuration or Options property page – you must have SERVER OPERATOR system privilege.

Modify any property on the Request Logging property page – you must have one of:
  • MANAGE PROFILING system privilege
  • SERVER OPERATOR system privilege
Task
  1. In the Perspective Resources view, select the resource, and select Resource > Administration Console.
  2. In the left pane of the Administration Console, select IQ Servers.
  3. Select the IQ server in the right pane and either:
    • Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the name and select Properties, or,
    • From the Administration Console menu bar, select Resource > Properties.
    The Server Properties view appears.
  4. View or modify the server properties.
    • Configuration changes may take several minutes to complete.
    • When you are modifying properties, you need not click Apply before changing screens; however, doing so saves any changes.
    • If you do not have privileges to modify properties, SAP Control Center displays the properties view in read-only mode..
    Area Description
    General

    (Read-only)

    Server name – Name of the server.

    Host – Host name where the server is running.

    Port – Port where the server is running.

    Database – Database name.

    Server version – Server version number.

    Platform – Platform the server is running on.

    Platform version – Version of the operating system where the server is running.

    Type – Server type: Single Server.

    Configuration

    Server name – Name of the server.

    Host – Host name where the server is running.

    Port – Port where the server is running.

    Database file path – Location of the .db file.

    Agent

    (Read-only)

    Agent registered – Indicates if the SAP Control Center agent is registered: true or false.

    Agent authenticated – Indicates if the SAP Control Center agent is authenticated: true or false.

    Agent status – Status of the SAP Control Center agent: Running, Stopped, or Unknown.

    Agent host – Name of the host machine the SAP Control Center agent is running.

    Agent port – Port number on the host machine the SAP Control Center agent is running.

    Agent user – User name for authentication of the agent. Default is uafadmin.

    Agent process owner – The user who owns the agent process.

    Agent home – The home directory of the SAP Control Center agent.

    Agent version – The version of the SAP Control Center agent.

    SCC agent plugin version – The agent plugin version of the SAP Control Center agent.

    IQ directory – Installation directory of the IQ server with which the SAP Control Center agent is associated.

    IQ version – Version of the IQ server with which the SAP Control Center agent is associated.

    Server Properties

    (Read-only)

    Properties – The name, value, and description of all server properties.

    Request Logging

    Enable request logging – Select to enable request logging.

    All connections to this server – Select to log requests from all connections to the server.

    All connections to the following database – Specify the name of a database to log requests to all connections.

    The following connections – Specify the connections to log.

    Select type of requests to log – Select the type of requests to log:
    • All
    • Include host variables
    • Triggers
    • Connections blocked from proceeding
    • SQL
    • Procedures
    • Plan

    Log file name – Specify the pathname of the log file.

    Maximum log file size – Specify the maximum size of the log file in KB.

    Maximum number of log files – Specify the maximum number of log files.

    Overwrite the request log file if it already exists – Select to overwrite an existing log file.

    Options

    Current time – The current time.

    Refresh – Update the current time.

    Quitting time – Enter a time for the database server to shut down. Use the same format as the current time: YYYY-MM-DD HH:NN:SS.SS

    Disable new connections – Prevent other users from connecting to the database. This may be useful for some maintenance operations.

    Remember last statement – Instruct the database server to capture the most recently prepared SQL statement for each connection to a database on the server.

  5. Do one of:
    • Click OK to update any changes to the database and exit the properties view.
    • Click Apply to update any changes to the database, but remain in the properties view.
    • Click Cancel to cancel any changes not updated to the database and exit the properties view.
