Viewing Table Data in the Execute SQL Window

Execute a SELECT * FROM query and display contents of the table, global temporary table or proxy table in the query results pane of the Execute SQL window.

Prerequisites
Database Version Table Privileges
SAP Sybase IQ 15.3 and 15.4
You must have one of the following for the menu option to be enabled:
  • DBA authority
  • SELECT permission on the table
  • You own the table
Queries execute with the user's current permissions.
SAP Sybase IQ 16.0
You must have one of the following for the menu option to be enabled:
  • SELECT ANY TABLE system privilege
  • SELECT permission on the table
  • You own the table
Queries execute with the user's current privileges.
Task
  1. In the Perspective Resources view, select the resource, and select Resource > Administration Console.
  2. In the left pane, expand IQ Servers > Schema Objects > Tables, and then select Tables, Global Temporary Tables, or Proxy Tables.
  3. Select a table from the right pane and either:
    • Click the arrow to the right of the name and select View Data in SQL , or
    • From the Administration Console menu bar, select Resource > View Data in SQL .
    A SELECT * FROM <table> query executes.
  4. (Optional) Modify the SQL statement and click Execute to display different data in the table.
  5. Click Close to close the Execute SQL view.
