Make Sybase Control Center aware of a Sybase IQ resource (for example, a server that can be monitored) and its connection information by registering the resource.
Prerequisites
Ensure that the Sybase IQ server does not have multiple databases. Sybase Control Center for Sybase IQ supports a maximum of one database per server.
Task- In the Resource Explorer, select

- If you want SCC to retrieve the Sybase IQ server’s software version before authentication, enter a user name and password that SCC can use to log in to the server and retrieve the version. Otherwise, click I do not want to supply authentication information.
This step enables SCC to display the correct version information for the server before the server is formally authenticated. It has no affect on what is displayed after you authenticate the server (later in the configuration process).
- Click Next.
- (Optional) Click Add this resource to the current perspective. You must add a resource to a perspective (not necessarily the current perspective) before you can manage or monitor it.
- (Optional) Click Open the resource explorer to view this new resource. (This option is not present when the Resource Explorer is open.)
The resource is added to the Resource Explorer even if you choose not to view it.
- Click Finish.
