Cannot View Applications on the BlackBerry Storm Simulator

Problem: On the BlackBerry Storm simulator, if you change the orientation from portrait to landscape, the application does not refresh and continues using portrait mode.

Solution: Device applications are compiled with the BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1 and run on a 4.7 OS device, so the BlackBerry Storm simulator automatically switches to compatibility mode, which causes a keyboard to appear. To turn off compatibility mode:
  1. On the BlackBerry Storm simulator, navigate to Options > Advanced Options > Applications.
  2. Select the device application.
  3. From the menu, select Disable Compatibility Mode.
  4. Restart the BlackBerry Storm simulator.

    The keyboard no longer appears, but a Show/Hide keyboard menu option is available.
