Application Provisioning

Applications can optionally be provisioned with name=value pair parameters to connect to Unwired Server. Those parameters can include connection parameters for Unwired Server including the server's public key.

There are two methods for application provisioning, provisioning using Afaria, and provisioning from a file. The Afaria method also allows the use of Afaria to transfer an X.509 certificate to the client application.

The Hybrid Web Container supports only the provisioning from a file method. Provisioning of the Hybrid Web Container provisions the container itself (and therefore all the apps in the container).

• Provisioning an Application Using Afaria
  (Applies only to Online Data Proxy) Automate the process of provisioning applications by enabling a group of applications to be intially provisioned with a set of parameters from a configuration file using Afaria.
• Provisioning an Application Using a File
  In environments where Afaria is not used for mobile device management, you can use a file to provision the device application on BlackBerry, Android devices, or Windows Mobile or Win32 devices. iOS clients cannot be manually provisioned in this manner, as the application sandbox is not accessible.
