Application users and their connections are registered in the Unwired Server. Depending on the nature of the application, the registration mechanism differs.
There are two methods: automatic and manual.
- The automatic method uses Afaria for provisioning and enables registering a user upon successful validation of the credentials.
- The manual method uses a white-listing based approach where the application connection is registered by the administrator and specifies an activation code. Then device application user presents the same activation code when the application initializes to complete the registration.
Application connection registration is used for license enforcement, based on the number of unique devices associated with the registered connections. Multiple applications deployed to the same device accessing the same server result in consuming one device license unit.
