An application connection template is a model or pattern used to standardize connection properties and values for a specific application connections so that they can be reused. A template allows you to quickly create actual application connections.
Two default templates are available: Default and HWC. The Default is for registering an application connection without an application ID (backward compatibility scenario, as well as for 2.1 native messaging clients). The HWC template is for registering application connections for 2.1 Hybrid Web Container clients. Native messaging applications can only be activated manually.
