Native Support for 64-bit Windows Server Systems

Sybase Unwired Platform 1.2.4 includes native support for 64-bit Windows Server systems.

Note: Sybase Unwired Platform requires a minimum of 2G physical memory.

You can set Java Virtual Machine (JVM) heap and Unwired Server download stream cache sizes higher to take advantage of the expanded virtual memory sizes in both 32 and 64-bit Windows Server systems. It is advantageous to set both the JVM heap size and the synchronization cache sizes higher based on the physical memory available on the machine and the concurrency expected.

The Unwired Server thread count also determines the amount of memory needed in the Unwired Server cache based on the volume of data being downloaded concurrently. The thread count should be set lower if the physical memory on the machine does not allow increasing the Unwired Server cache setting further. It is best to experiment with various settings to determine the optimal setting of this thread count for the environment.
