Checking System and Upgrade Requirements

Verify that your system meets upgrade requirements.

  1. Verify that the computer on which you plan to upgrade the Sybase products meets system requirements.
  2. Determine whether the version of your server can be upgraded to the Cluster Edition.
  3. Verify that you unloaded Adaptive Server in a different directory than your previous Adaptive Server installation. However, if you overwrite the previous installation:
    1. Restore it from your most recent backup.
    2. Reinstall the product files for Adaptive Server in a different directory.
    3. Continue with the upgrade.
  4. Verify that your operating system for the Cluster Edition.
