Creating a Simulated Cluster on a Single Node

Test the server configuration and installation.

SAP recommends that you configure each instance on a different node, that is, one node for each instance. However, in a test environment, you can create a simulated cluster on a single node with all instances running on that node.
  1. For best performance, make sure the number of engines in all instances running on a single node do not exceed the number of CPUs on that node.
  2. Verify the value for runnable process search count. SAP recommends a value of 3 (the default). You can set this using the sp_configure stored procedure.
