Migrating Your Production Environment

Install the Deployment option on a different machine from the previous version of Sybase Unwired Platform. Copy the appropriate files to your new production environment.

Sybase recommends that you perform these migration tasks soon after installing the first Sybase Unwired Platform 1.2 production server, then configure CSI security for Unwired Server.
  1. Install Sybase Unwired Platform Deployment option on a different machine than the previous version.
  2. From your Sybase Unwired Platform 1.0 installation:
  3. For the primary server in the cluster, copy your custom endpoints to the new server by copying the Repository directory from the Sybase Unwired 1.0 installation directory and pasting the files in your Sybase Unwired Platform 1.2 installation.

Do not overwrite files with the same name. You can use Sybase Control Center to determine which server is the primary.

  4. Install third-party software to each server in the cluster.
  5. If Unwired Server is running as a Windows service:
    1. Shut down the server.
    2. Open a command window and change to <installation_directory>\Servers\UnwiredServer, and run: mlservice.bat install
    3. Restart the service.
  6. Recreate personalization keys and values, registered users, subscriptions, and schedules.
  7. In your development environment, import MBO projects and then regenerate them.
  8. Deploy upgraded projects files to Unwired Server.
