Reinstalling Sybase Unwired Platform

Re-run the installer to install additional features, reinstall an existing feature, or perform a complete reinstallation.

Prerequisites 

  • If necessary, obtain additional licenses for any new features you want to install.
  • Shut down any Sybase products, Sybase processes, and associated third-party processes that are currently running, including the consolidated database server (SQL Anywhere), OpenDS server, and Sybase Unified Agent. Shut down all Unwired Servers before shutting down the consolidated database (SQL Anywhere).
  • If reinstalling an existing component, uninstall it.
  • If performing a complete reinstallation, uninstall all of Sybase Unwired Platform, and then delete the Sybase Unwired Platform installation directory and any subdirectories.
  1. Insert the Sybase Unwired Platform installation media or open the directory where the installation files reside, if you are installing from a Web download.
  2. If the installer does not start automatically:
    1. Select Start > Run .
    2. Browse to the location of the setup.exe file on the installation media or in the temporary directory, and click OK.
  3. On the installer welcome page, click Next.
  4. Accept the terms of the license agreement.
    1. Select the appropriate geographic location and read the license agreement.
    2. Click I do agree to the terms of the Sybase license, for the install location specified, then click Next.
  5. Click Next to reinstall into the existing Sybase Unwired Platform location.
  6. Reinstall components, install new features, or upgrade the Afaria license to install additional Afaria features.
    To Do this
    Reinstall one or more components, or install new features with the existing license
    1. Click No.
    2. Select the features you want to install and click Next.
    3. Verify the installation feature and click Install.
    Upgrade the Sybase Unwired Platform license information, and/or Afaria license and install new Afaria features
    1. Click Yes.
    2. Enter the new license key and click Next.

      The license upgrade begins.
  7. Click Finish.
