Setting Up an Afaria Client on a Windows Mobile Device

To set up an Afaria client on a Windows Mobile device:
  1. On the device, create the directory \AfariaConfig6.00.
  2. On the server machine, change to <install_dir>\Servers\UnwiredServer\clientAPI\Afaria.

  3. Copy the appropriate files from the server to \AfariaConfig6.00 on the device.

    For a Pocket PC, copy:
    • Setup_PPC2005.SeedData.zip
    • Setup_PPC2005.CAB
    For a SmartPhone, copy:
    • Setup_SPC2005.SeedData.zip
    • Setup_SPC2005.CAB

  4. On a Pocket PC, run:

    Setup_PPC2005.CAB

    On a SmartPhone, run:

    Setup_SPC2005.CAB

  5. Execute the copied .CAB file on the device to install the Afaria Client.
