Syntax

DROP TEXT INDEX text-index-name
   ON [ owner ] table-name

• ON – specifies the table on which the TEXT index is built.

• Example 1 – creates and drops the TextIdx TEXT index:

  CREATE TEXT INDEX TextIdx ON Customers ( Street );
  DROP TEXT INDEX TextIdx ON Customers;

You must drop dependent TEXT indexes before you can drop a text configuration object.

Permissions

Requires one of:

• DROP ANY INDEX system privilege.
• DROP ANY OBJECT system privilege.
• REFERENCES privilege on the table being indexed.
• You own the underlying table.
