Uninstalling

Uninstall Sybase WorkSpace using the uninstaller.

Prerequisites 

Before uninstalling Sybase WorkSpace, Sybase recommends that you:


  • Shut down all Sybase products.
  • Move any log, database, or user-created files that you want to keep from the installation directory to another location.
Note: You do not need to save or move your project resource files. By default, all project files are automatically saved to:

C:\Documents and Settings\<your login name>\workspace

The uninstaller allows you to remove some or all of Sybase WorkSpace features from the installation directory.

You do not need to uninstall Sybase WorkSpace before reinstalling. See Reinstalling Sybase WorkSpace for instructions.

  1. From the Windows Start menu, select Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs .
  2. Select Sybase WorkSpace 2.5 from the listed programs, and click Change > Remove . The uninstaller welcome page appears.
  3. Click Next in the Welcome window.
  4. Select the features that you want to remove, and click Next.
  5. Review the list of features to be uninstalled, and click Uninstall to remove the selected components.

    A status bar displays the progress of the uninstall.

  6. Click Finish when the following message appears: The InstallShield Wizard has successfully uninstalled Sybase WorkSpace 2.5.

After the uninstallation is complete, the following directories remain:


Review the log files once the uninstallation process is complete. You can manually delete these files or move them to another directory.

The uninstallation process does not remove the Sybase Central component as other Sybase products may be registered to this plug-in installation.

The uninstallation process does not remove user-created projects.

Note: If you attempt to delete the installation directory and receive a message from the operating system that states that the files are too long, move the directory to the root of your local directory and then delete it.
