If you have ClearCase running on a Linux machine where Open Server 15.0 is being installed, InstallShield can hang after you select a Typical, Full or Custom installation. The following message is displayed when InstallShield hangs:
Please wait while InstallShield checks on system resources.
Workaround 1:
Stop the installation process.
Stop ClearCase and remove ClearCase views from the system using the relevant ClearCase commands. Refer to your ClearCase documentation for instructions.
Retry the installation.
Start ClearCase after the installation is complete.
Workaround 2: This workaround is for x86 32-bit hardware systems only, not for 64-bit hardware systems.
Download JRE 1.4.2 from the IBM Web site.
Enter the following command:
./setup -is:javahome <JRE>
