-s iqsrv16 database server option

Sets the user ID for Syslog messages.

Syntax

iqsrv16 -s { none | user | daemon | localn } ...

Applies to

Unix

Remarks

Sets the system user ID used in messages to the Syslog facility. The default is user for database servers that are started in the foreground, and daemon for those that are run in the background (for example, started by dbspawn, started automatically by a client, or started with the -ud database server option).

A value of none prevents any Syslog messages from being logged. The localn argument allows you to use a facility identifier to redirect messages to a file. You can specify a number between 0 and 7, inclusive, for n. For more information, refer to the Unix Syslog(3) man page.
