Eclipse Help

The SQL Anywhere Eclipse Help has the following components:

  • An Eclipse Help plug-in (com.sybase.help.sqlanywhere_12.0.1.jar)

  • A documentation viewer

  • A map file used by the SQL Anywhere administration tools (sqlanywhere_en12.map)

Note

To share SQL Anywhere Eclipse Help, multiple users share a single web server and view documentation in an individual browser. If the embedded browser is used, the web server shuts down when the last browser closes.

If you use the use_external_browser option to view documentation in an external browser, the web server does not shut down automatically. It is recommended that the last user use the -stop option to close the web server manually.

The documentation viewer uses an internal web server that runs as a service, daemon, or background process. The documentation viewer requires a web browser to display the SQL Anywhere Help. An embedded web browser is included with the documentation viewer.

When using an external browser in a Microsoft Windows environment, the default browser is used to view online Help. If a user is not working in a Microsoft Windows environment, a browser is selected from the path in the following order: Firefox, Opera, Konqueror, Epiphany, Mozilla, or Netscape.
