Editions and licensing

SQL Anywhere offers various editions that include certain separately licensed components and that can restrict the number of CPUs used by the database server. For more information about editions, see [external link] http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1068247.

Licensing and CPUs

With per-seat licensing, the network database server uses all CPUs available unless the database server is limited by the -gt option or by the edition you are running. With CPU-based licensing, the network database server uses up to the number of CPUs you are licensed for unless the database server is further limited by the -gt option or by the SQL Anywhere edition you are running.

The personal database server is limited to one CPU.
