-kp dbeng12/dbsrv12 server option

{ dbeng12 | dbsrv12 } -kp server-principal ...

This option specifies the Kerberos server principal used by the database server and enables Kerberos authentication. By default, the principal used by the database server for Kerberos authentication is server-name@default-realm, where default-realm is the default realm configured for the Kerberos client. Use this option if you want to use a different server principal. The industry format for Kerberos server principals is server-name/hostname@realm.

If OpenClient or jConnect Kerberos authenticated connections are made to the database server, the server principal must also be specified by the application. See SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME in the jConnect documentation.

The -kr option cannot be specified if the -kp option is specified.

The following command starts a database server that accepts Kerberos logins and uses the server principal myserver/mycomputer.example.com@EXAMPLE.COM for authentication.

dbeng12 -kp myserver/mycomputer.example.com@EXAMPLE.COM -n myserver C:\kerberos.db
