Software updates

You can configure SQL Anywhere to notify you when updates, such as EBFs and maintenance releases, become available. For information about EBFs and maintenance releases, see -iu option, dbsupport.

By default, SQL Anywhere checks daily for software updates.

Checking for updates automatically

Sybase Central, Interactive SQL, and the SQL Anywhere Console utility (dbconsole) all provide you with a way to configure the Update Checker, which controls whether SQL Anywhere should check for software updates and how often it should do so.

Configure the Update Checker (Sybase Central)

Click Help » SQL Anywhere 12 » Configure Update Checker.
Edit the Update Checker settings.
Click OK.

Configure the Update Checker (Interactive SQL)

Click Tools » Options.
In the left pane, click SQL Anywhere.
Click the Update Checker tab.
Edit the Update Checker settings.
Click OK.

Configure the Update Checker (SQL Anywhere Console utility)

Click File » Options.
In the left pane, click Update Checker.
Edit the Update Checker settings.
Click OK.

Checking for updates manually

You can check for SQL Anywhere software updates at any time by using any of the following methods:

Start menu Click Start » Programs » SQL Anywhere 12 » Check For Updates.
Sybase Central Click Help » SQL Anywhere 12 » Check For Updates.
Interactive SQL Click Help » Check For Updates.
SQL Anywhere Console utility (dbconsole) Click Help » Check For Updates.
SQL Anywhere Support utility (dbsupport) Run the following command:
dbsupport -iu
