The major performance issue for sending messages is the turnaround time between when the data is entered at one site to when it appears at other sites. To reduce this lag time, when sending messages with the Message Agent (dbremote), you can adjust the following variables:
How often messages are sent to remote databases. See Adjusting the send delay.
