Preparing to upgrade

Note

When upgrading M-Business Server on Linux or Solaris, you must perform a fresh installation in a new location. You cannot simply install the current version to overwrite the previous version's files. You must install version 7.0 to a new location and have the M-Business Server installer migrate any data that you want to preserve.

To prepare to upgrade
  1. Change directories to the /usr/local/<M-Business_Home>/conf directory for your current M-Business Server installation.

  2. Stop all M-Business Server processes:

    ./agserver stop all

    Caution

All existing ASA and SQL Anywhere servers must be stopped for M-Business Server installation to work properly. The above command stops only the ASA or SQL Anywhere server supporting M-Business Server. If any other ASA or SQL Anywhere servers are running on the same machine, you must stop them all before proceeding.

  3. Install M-Business Server.
