Chapter 2: Creating and Configuring DB2 Access Services

XNLChar

Specifies the maximum size of both char, binary, and graphic results. If the maximum size is exceeded, the datatype is promoted to text and image, respectively.

Syntax

XNLChar=integer

Default

256

Values

integer is a valid number between 256 - 2,147,483,647 (two gigabytes).

Comments

Sybase recommends that this value match the maximum size of the char, binary, and graphic datatypes of the back-end database. It is common for this limit to be the same for the char and binary datatypes.
