Chapter 6: Installing DirectConnect for Oracle

Uninstalling DirectConnect for Oracle

To uninstall a DirectConnect installation, use the InstallShield uninstall program. This removes all servers, all common files, and all required components. After the uninstall runs, you may need to delete any existing files and directories in the directory where DirectConnect was installed.

NoteYou may need to stop the SySAM service first; otherwise, you will not be able to delete certain files and directories. Also, before uninstalling Sybase software, shut down all Sybase applications and processes.

You can invoke the uninstall procedure using either the GUI or the console method. Sybase recommends that you use the GUI method.

Log in to your machine using an account with “administrator” privileges, then shut down all other processes for the components you are uninstalling.

NoteIf you set up DirectConnect for Oracle as a Windows service, you must remove the service using instdco.exe as described in the DirectConnect for Oracle User’s Guide.
