Defining the cluster

From the GUI

NoteThis task may take a few minutes to complete.

  1. Select Tasks from the menu bar.

  2. Click Cluster.

  3. Select Define a Cluster and complete the following fields.

    Cluster Name

    afloat

    The logical name of the cluster

    Cluster Mode

    Normal

    Set to Experimental when debugging, Normal when not

    Notify Administrator

    Never

    Send a notification message to the administrator on cluster and node status changes; By e-mail, By other command, or Never

    NoteDo not add or remove nodes until the cluster icon appears in the tree view.

  4. Click OK.

From the command line

From the command line, enter the following:

cluster_mgr –f cluster_def
