A wide variety of character sets are supported by Adaptive Server, and error messages can be localized to suit your particular user community. By default, Adaptive Server is installed with a default character set of iso_1 (ISO 8859-1, to use the ISO terminology), a binary sort order, and US English as the default language. All of these can be changed as required, as described in this section.
