Once you have installed the server, it may be necessary or desirable to stop it, or to re-initialize it using an alternative disk location. If this is the case, the server can be stopped by means of the new System Preferences pane provided with this release. The installation places the Sybase preference pane at /Library/PreferencePanes/Sybase.prefPane, making it available to all users of your computer.
Once the preference pane is installed, it is easy to start and stop both Adaptive Server and the Backup Server by clicking on the start (or stop) buttons.
Starting or stopping Adaptive Server can also be done
through the Server Admin utility, using the new Adaptive Server
plug-in.
