EAServer 6.1 can use any external OpenClient that is publicly available from Sybase. Different versions of OpenClient may have subtle environment differences, so refer your OpenClient documentation for details. The EAServer installation includes an option to install OpenClient version 12.5.1. This section describes the basic configuration tasks required to use OpenClient and ODBC with the application server.
WARNING! Do not perform the following configuration tasks if Adaptive Server Enterprise is already installed on this computer. The environment variable settings may conflict with those required by Adaptive Server.
You do not need to configure OpenClient and ODBC if OpenClient 12.5.1 and ODBC are already installed and configured.
