Chapter 7: Removing Adaptive Server

With this version of Adaptive Server, the installation technology has changed from that used for Adaptive Server 12.0 and 12.5. The current installer is based on InstallShield Multi-Platform Edition and uses the built-in uninstall capability. The basic premise of the uninstaller is that only actions that were done by InstallShield are removed during an uninstallation process. This means that files or registry entries created after installation are not removed by the uninstaller and must be removed by the customer after the uninstall is completed. Where possible these actions are identified in this chapter.

If Adaptive Server version 12.5.1 is installed on top of an existing Adaptive Server 12.5 Adaptive Server version 12.5 creates a shortcut that launches the uninstaller, while Adaptive Server 12.5.1 registers the uninstaller with the Change/Drop Programs option on the control panel. Use the Change/Drop Programs option to remove Adaptive Server. This does not remove some of the shortcuts created by the Adaptive Server version 12.5 installer;you must manually remove those shortcuts.
